Biography
Chen Qirui (born 2000) turned professional in Taiwan in 2014 and has moved into the island's top group over the past few seasons.
He has reached the main draw of the LG Cup several times, beating Korea's Hong Seongji in the round of 24 in 2021.
In 2026 he beat Chinese national team player Huang Mingyu at the 4th Quzhou Lanke Cup World Open.

Chen took White against Huang Mingyu of the Chinese national team and won by resignation at the Lanke Cup, one of the newest world championships.
Chen Qirui had the edge at 69% when he played S18 on move 62. Huang Mingyu's T16 on move 63 ended the game as a contest, Chen rising to 97%, and Black resigned at move 96. T14 was the move that kept resistance alive, one that about 14% of 9-dan players find.
