Biography

Dang Yifei (born 1994) turned professional in 2007 and has been a Chinese national team regular for over a decade, known for thick, patient positional play.

He won his first world title at the 3rd MLily Cup in 2018, beating Park Junghwan in the final, and was runner-up to Ding Hao at the 2024 Samsung Cup.

In October 2025 he won the 3rd Quzhou Lanke Cup, beating Shin Jinseo 2-1 in the final, and sits in the world's top five in 2026.

With the final tied 1-1, Dang Yifei took Black against world number one Shin Jinseo and won by resignation to take his second world title, seven years after his first.

The deciding game of the Lanke Cup final was close, 44% for Dang, when he played R14 on move 171. Shin Jinseo's S10 on move 172 was the losing reply, and Dang's winrate rose to 87%. L8 was the move, and about 14% of 9-dan players find it. Dang won by resignation and his second world title.
